is starting a podcast hard

Listen to today’s episode on Is Starting a Podcast Hard? The Biggest Challenge You Will Face When Starting Your Podcast:

Hey, Mama! One question many people ask when they are thinking about launching a podcast is, “Is starting a podcast hard?” If you’ve been listening to the podcast series this week, then you know that launching your podcast doesn’t have to be hard if you don’t complicate it. While starting your podcast doesn’t have to be hard, there is one challenge that many podcasters face: recording episode one. When you are launching as part of your marketing strategy, episode one should be about you, the why of your business, and your why for starting the podcast. Talking about ourselves is hard and uncomfortable, so it makes sense that this episode is hard to record. In today’s episode, I’m discussing why episode one is so hard to record and things to consider when recording this episode.

Main Topics Covered in this Episode:

Is Starting a Podcast Hard?

“Is starting a podcast hard,” is one question many mompreneurs Google when they are thinking about launching a podcast. If you stick to the basics when launching your podcast, it doesn’t have to be hard. If you want a simplified podcast launch checklist, go listen to episode 126 for my stress free podcast launch checklist. Although launching your podcast doesn’t have to be hard, there is one challenge you will face when launching your podcast.

The #1 Challenge You Will Face When Launching Your Podcast

The one challenge you will face when launching your podcast is recording episode 1. When you are creating a podcast as part of your marketing strategy, your first podcast episode should be about you. Your first podcast episode is your origin story. In this episode, you share about yourself, why you do what you do, why you’re passionate about what you do, and why you launched your podcast. Episode one is so hard to record because it requires you to open up to your listeners and some level of vulnerability.

Your first podcast episode isn’t meant to be one in which you bare your heart and soul. It’s an opportunity for your audience to get to know the real you. Episode one allows them to learn what your values are and see your personality. This episode allows you to build a deep connection with your listeners and will make you relatable. So, you do not want to skip recording this as your first podcast episode.

Feeling Stuck on What to Record for Your First Podcast Episode?

Before recording your first podcast episode, take some time to reflect on what you actually want to share with your listeners. You don’t have to put all of your business out there, but you do want to infuse your personality into this episode. During the 7 Day Pod Launch Get It Done Week, you will receive podcast coaching to support you with confidently record episode one, your origin story, and your other launch episodes. The podcast launch process will also be broken down into simple, actionable steps over the course of 7 days.
